Dr. Vivien Lee, C.Psych.
Psychologist
Dr. Vivien Lee, PhD, C.Psych. is a clinical psychologist and founder of the Centre for Trauma Recovery & Growth. She specializes in trauma, PTSD, depression, and anxiety and has extensive experience working with and training first responders (e.g., police, paramedics, firefighters, corrections, dispatchers) and military. Particular interests also include optimizing peer support and family support.
Please note that Dr. Lee is currently working full-time with a first responder service and may be unable to reply in a timely manner.
Dr. Lee worked as a staff psychologist in the Psychological Trauma Program and Work, Stress and Health program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) from 2010-2017. She currently serves as the Chair of the Service Provider Reference Group for the Centre of Excellence – PTSD. In addition, Dr. Lee serves as a clinical advisor and board member for Toronto Beyond the Blue, an organization providing support to families of Toronto Police Service (TPS) officers; and is the clinical advisor for Boots on the Ground, a peer support telephone line for first responders across Ontario. She was previously a clinician for Wounded Warriors Canada’s Trauma Resiliency Program (TRP) and Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday (COPE).
Dr. Lee is proud to be a Contributing Editor for the open-access Journal of Community Safety and Well-Being. She also serves on the board of directors for the Public Services Health & Safety Association (PSHSA), and has sat as an ex-officio board member with the Traumatic Stress section of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). She served as the Student Director for the Board of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA; 2008-2011).
Dr. Lee is registered as a provider for injured/traumatized workers in the WSIB Community Mental Health Program (CMHP), and as provider for members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)/Department of National Defence (DND) and Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) through Medavie Blue Cross.
Dr. Lee is regularly involved in public education and workshops, and has spoken at the Globe and Mail’s Solving Workplace Challenges 2018 and presented to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, House of Commons, on the need for mental health supports for jurors in December 2017.
Dr. Lee earned her PhD and Masters in Clinical Psychology from Western University, and Hon.BSc. in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Toronto. Her graduate research focused on the impacts of trauma on child and adolescent development. Her PhD research received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC; Canada Graduate Scholarship) and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Dr. Leah Hartman, C.Psych.
Psychologist
Dr. Leah Hartman, C.Psych., is a clinical and forensic psychologist who earned her PhD and Masters in Clinical Psychology from York University. She specializes in trauma, PTSD, operational stress injuries, depression and anxiety, compassion fatigue, and grief and bereavement. She has experience working with first responders, helping professionals and those in high trauma sectors.
Dr. Hartman aims to provide personalized client care and takes a collaborative approach in working with clients. Drawing upon advanced training and experience, Dr. Hartman provides evidence-based psychological treatment in which she aims to reduce stigma, increase self-compassion, enhance self-care and adaptive coping strategies, and utilize a person’s strengths to work towards achieving important life goals and enhance overall well-being. In addition to treatment, Dr. Hartman is also skilled in Fitness for Duty Evaluations, as well as Psychological Screening Evaluations for various police and security organizations.
